The last performance of this season’s Wit and Wisdom series at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center will feature a truly unforgettable show of Nobel laureate Harold Pinter’s life and work. On Saturday, March 28, british actor Julian Sands will perform “A Celebration of Harold Pinter,” at 8:00PM.

According to the announcement, three years before Pinter’s death, the poet had been preparing to deliver his poetry in London when an illness abruptly halted his path forward. He relied on Sands to perform his poems and tirelessly worked with the actor to ensure every inflection, every tonation of the British dramatist’s work was delivered just as he had imagined. Sands developed “A Celebration of Harold Pinter” from his time spent working with the literary craftsman.

Sands accomplishments include the films “A Room with a View” and “The Killing Fields,” while he recently appeared in the TV series, “Gotham.” He will be the sole act in this 2013 Drama Desk Award-nominated showcase of Pinter’s repertoire of poetry.

The series is made possible by the Season Media Partner KPCC 89.3 FM. Single tickets are available and on sale now starting at $40. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here or call the Carpenter Center Ticket Office at (562) 985-7000.

The Carpenter Center is located at 6200 Atherton St.
