“A Christmas Carol” teaches people to be kind and generous, and an upcoming benefit performance of the classic Charles Dickens’ tale stays true to that theme.

Friends of Long Beach Animals (FOLBA) will host the performance on December 14 at the Long Beach Playhouse, and proceeds will go back to benefit the non-profit organization, organizers said.

Prior to the play, Ralph Brunson will play the piano at a reception that will include hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and a raffle.

Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for youth ages 14 and under.
