For the first time since Trip Advisor began ranking aquariums across the nation and globe, the Aquarium of the Pacific has been ranked within the top 10 aquariums in the United States.
The Long Beach entertainment destination was named No. 9 in the Travelers’ Choice awards for aquariums in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. In total, 275 winners were identified worldwide, and a top 10 was chosen in the U.S. The Monterey Bay Aquarium, also in California, took the No. 1 spot in both the U.S. and the world rankings.
The awards are based on reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers, where the Aquarium of the Pacific currently has 898 reviews with a 4.5 out of 5 “bubble-rating.”
“Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for zoos and aquariums worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period,” TripAdvisor said.
