Over the course of two weeks, more than 100,000 of you came to our Facebook page and voted for your favorite people, places and things in this city. And now that winners have been officially announced via our latest print edition (you can pick up a copy at any of the 500 locations listed here), we will be rolling out all 30 winners online–one a day for the next month.

Dharma’s Yoga on the Bluff
Every weekend morning, hundreds of devotees set up towels and mats along the shaded grass at Ocean and Junipero and stretch towards the sun at a free yoga class taught by Long Beach’s most generous “yogi shiromani”—Dharma Shakti. Affectionately called “Dharma’s Yoga on the Bluff,” the classes known as Yogalution began six years ago when Shakti (who was also a 2012 40 Under 40 winner!) began to think about how she could offer yoga to those unable to afford private studios. Since then, her self-described Yogalution has grown into a Long Beach staple where the curious can come to explore and the experts can practice their form with an enviable view of the Long Beach harbor. Shakti will be opening up her own donation-based space on Broadway this month, but says she will continue to give back to the community through weekly classes on the bluff.
Dharma hostsfree yoga on the bluff at Ocean Blvd. and Junipero Ave. at 11AM on Saturdays and Sundays. For more about Dharma including her teaching schedule, visit dharmashaktiyoga.blogspot.com/
