A mothers’ homeless shelter will be making, rather than soliciting, donations this weekend (although donations are always appreciated), giving away Easter dinner bags that contain 10-pound turkeys and all the trimmings.
According to an event press release, New Life Beginnings, a shelter that provides long-term housing and training to mothers and children in need (read our profile of the organization here), is out in the community distributing coupons to a variety of local organizations, including Saint Mary Medical Center, The Long Beach YMCA, Holy Innocents School, and Lincoln Elementary School. The dinner bags can be picked this Saturday at the Treasure Hunt Thrift Store, which is associated with New Life Beginnings.
The Easter dinner bags will be distributed at the Treasure Hunt Thrift Store (1178 E. Anaheim St., LB 90802) on Saturday, March 16, from 10AM to noon. For more information, visit www.newlb.org or call 562.590.1538.
