The City of Long Beach’s cable channel, LBTV, a division of the Technology Services Department, received 11 government programming STAR awards at the States of California and Nevada National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (SCAN NATOA) annual conference in Long Beach earlier this month.

LBTV received first place STAR Awards for “The Long Beach Airport” in the Promotion category; “Heart of the City” in the Talk Show category; “City Clerk Department” in the Documentary Profile category; and “Pulse of the Port,” a co-production with the Port of Long Beach, in the Magazine category. Third place awards were received for “Tour of Long Beach” (Community Event), “Solar Grand Prix” (Environmental), “Shop Local” (Economic Development), as well as in the Overall Excellence, Social Media, Video Text, and Channel Web Site categories.
