The Queensview Steakhouse at Parkers’ Lighthouse will host a birthday party for the Historical Society of Long Beach (HSLB), celebrating its 50th year of collecting and preserving Long Beach’s rich history. Using historical documents, photographs, artifacts, and oral and written stories, the Society creates exhibits and public programs that connect people to the past and to the place they live.
Guests will view a slide show chronicling the Historical Society’s own history and hear from HSLB co-president Evan Anderson Braude. Treasured HSLB items will be featured in a fundraising raffle. Guests are also welcome to peruse Parkers’s permanent exhibit in their main dining room, with its expansive walls featuring Long Beach historical photos that came from HSLB’s collection.
The birthday celebration will be held today at 5:30pm at Parker’s Lighthouse, located at 435 Shoreline Drive.
