1:20pm | For Twig & Willow, despite the underwhelming economy and increasing “For Lease” signs plastered on business windows, the doors are open and business is growing. On the heels of its second year anniversary, founders Billie Gentry and Karen Quimby Lobo prepare for the launch of a new e-commerce web site and a special neighborhood street celebration on Saturday, November 12.
Recently awarded “The Best Women’s Boutique in Los Angeles 2011” by The Los Angeles Times, the vivacious partners have grand plans for their brand and business. “People thought we were crazy to open a clothing boutique in the midst of the country’s worst recession,” says Gentry. Despite the downturn, their clientele are drawn to the Long Beach store stocked with local designers and artisans.
Launching in early December, the new online shopping site (www.twigandwillow.com) will showcase over 25 local jewelry artists, luxury candle makers, leather and vegan handbags, and other notable giftables for women, baby, and home.
Twig & Willow’s celebration will take place at their Belmont Heights flagship location at 3740 E. 4th Street between 1:00pm – 7:00pm. Patrons will be treated to gourmet food trucks, an old-school photo booth, live music, custom anniversary screen printed fashion tees, a sample sale and more.
