11:00am | Food Finders will hold its annual fundraiser at The Grand Event Center on Saturday, October 8th. Food finders is a Long Beach-based nonprofit dedicated to food rescue, hunger relief and reducing food waste throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.
Registration, silent auction, and cocktails and hors d’oeuvres reception will begin at 6:00 pm. Silent auction items will include restaurant certificates, entertainment packages, museum visits and more. A gourmet dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. The live auction, hosted by Randy Gordon, Long Beach Chamber President and CEO, will begin at 8:00 pm.
Mayor Foster will be presenting an award to Arlene Mercer, Founder and Executive Director Emeritus, for her 22 years of dedication and service to Food Finders. Mercer retired from day to day operations in June 2011.
