Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market today announced plans to open its next two Long Beach stores on September 14th. With these openings, Fresh & Easy will double the number of stores it has in the city and will bring more than 50 new jobs to the community.

Fresh & Easy stores set to open September 14th in Long Beach:

  • Long Beach Boulevard & 5th Street
  • Atlantic Avenue & 33rd Avenue

“I want to congratulate Fresh & Easy for opening two new stores in our city,” said Mayor Bob Foster.  “We are delighted with Fresh & Easy’s continued commitment to invest in Long Beach.”

For each new store opening, Fresh & Easy invites neighbors to nominate a local, non-profit organization to receive a $1,000 donation. Based off the nominations from the neighborhood, store employees will select the winning charity. Charity nominations are currently being accepted for both stores at www.freshandeasy.com/goodneighbor.

“The City of Long Beach and its residents have welcomed Fresh & Easy with open arms since we opened our doors three years ago,” said Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy CEO. “We’re excited to work with the city and its leaders to bring Fresh & Easy to even more Long Beach neighborhoods.”

Entry-level positions at Fresh & Easy start at $10 an hour in California and include quarterly bonuses of up to 10%, a 401(k) with company match, a generous paid time off (PTO) program, and life skills training. Fresh & Easy believes everyone deserves access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare and provides all employees the opportunity to work at least 20 hours per week. This entitles everyone to vision, prescription drug, dental and medical coverage with Fresh & Easy paying at least 75%. More than ¾ of Fresh & Easy employees participate in the company’s healthcare programs.

About 300 people were employed to construct and build each store, creating even more jobs in each neighborhood.
