9:00am | Tickets are now on sale for the 7th Annual Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival on Saturday, February 5, 2011. The popular community event, which runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, allows visitors to sample an array of chocolate treats provided by participating Belmont Shore merchants.
Live music will be performed during the event. The community can get involved by entering the Homemade Chocolate Dessert Contest, which runs from 2:00pm to 3:00pm, and children can compete in the Chocolate Pie Eating Contest at 3:30pm. Trophies will be awarded at 4:00pm. to the best desserts in several categories: Chocolate Pies and Cakes, Chocolate Cookies and Brownies, and Unique Chocolate Treats.
Ticket books are on sale this week at: La Strada Italiano (4716 E. 2nd St.); Mail Boxes Etc. (5318 E. 2nd St.); Sweet Jill’s (5224 E. 2nd St.); and We Olive (4725 E. 2nd St). Books of 12 tickets will be sold on the day of event for $10 in front of Chase Bank, 5200 E. 2nd St.
