9:46am | There are open seats available on a chartered bus that will take Long Beach residents to the Downtown L.A. Art Walk this Thursday, along with elected officials and local arts advocates going to enjoy and learn from the event’s success.
The Art Walk is essentially a massive, sprawling arts gallery that includes music, lie performances and art of all kinds in an organic urban setting. There are dozens of galleries, impromptu jam sessions and about fifty food trucks to choose from.
Art Walk has been a main inspiration for the growth and development of First Fridays in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of North Long Beach. In October, the Long Beach Post took a trip to Art Walk with First Fridays director Blair Cohn to see what inspires him and where he plans to take his own event.
Seventh District Councilmember James Johnson and others will also be joining in on the fun.
Seats on the bus are limited, so RSVP as soon as possible to [email protected] if you’re interested. Plan to meet at the Marina Pacifica Shopping Center in front of Ralphs as the bus will leave at 6:30pm this Thursday. After a few hours in Los Angeles, the bus will leave from 7th & Main at 10:00pm to return to Long Beach.
