2:45pm | Demonstrators came together in downtown Long Beach last Friday night to raise awareness about the dangers of domestic violence and to show support and love for victims. Photographer Daniel DeBoom was there to capture images of the march, which was hosted by the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach as well as the Long Beach Police Department’s Women’s Advisory Group, Food Finders, Project Safe and End Abuse Long Beach.

“It really does bring awareness to domestic violence,” said Giovanna Martinez, youth services coordinator for the Women’s Shelter, on Friday before the event took place.

“It definitely helps people come togetherr because it’s for a cause that everyone can agree should not be happening.”

If you or anyone you know is going through issues with domestic violence, the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach has a 24-hour hotline that can be reached at 562.HER.HOME or 562.437.4663.
