8:30am | Are you a runner, walker or biker?

We Love Long Beach has teamed up with the Arts Council for Long Beach and The Jazz Angels on an innovative project to raise needed funds to help our arts community thrive.

Recent cuts to the arts are effecting everyone from the small neighborhood theater groups the the largest  of performance halls. This new collaboration, called We Love Long Beach Arts, has joined many other charitable groups in lending their support for the upcoming Long Beach International City Bank Marathon in October.  This Wednesday evening, the new group is kicking off their charity campaign by hosting an event at the Long Beach Museum of Art called, “Arts in the Long Run.” This occasion will inform attendees about the loss/decrease of our arts and how they can be involved.

The main goal will be to inspire guests to either donate or become a marathon participant (run, walk, bike) to help raise money for the creative cause. There will be performances from local youth and arts groups such as: Renaissance High School, Khmer Arts, Jazz Angels and Circle Painting.  Refreshments and no-host bar will also be provided.  Please call the Arts Council Long Beach to RSVP at (562) 570-1930.
