The 26th Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade rang in the holiday season, rolling down 2nd Street over the weekend. People lined the streets to watch the action, and Belmont Shore was alive with bright lights and great music.
Check out my pictures from Saturday’s parade!
Everyone jockeys for blanket and chair position during pre stages of the parade.
This photo shouts Belmont Shore! Everything from the bicycle, to the kids playing to Open Sesame and USC jerseys.
Belmont Shore Shopkeeper,CSULB Alumni and long time Long Beach resident, Ed Kurkjian shows off his holiday spirit with an eye grabbing christmas tie.
Washington Mutual quickly becomes headquarters to the hustle and bustle of the parade. Interviews,TV crews and judges gathered in front to enjoy the parade.
Fake snow flys high as viewers ohhh and ahhh.
Marching bands and drumlines are my favorites.
Mayor Bob Foster and crew ride by on a classic firetruck. Our mayor urges us to, “Do just one thing for a neighbor this Holiday season, it will bring you joy being able to help and it will spread the Christmas spirit in our city.”
Judging floats is an art. This is me trying to make it look easy.
I gave Kiwanis my vote for best float ranking them on Best Appeal, Creativity and Theme (which was “Water Wonderland” or “Under the Sea” – it’s been debated)
Los Altos Baseball and Softball float brings energy and cheer to the parade. Cotton candy salesman standby for the photo op.
Vistors to Belmont Shore aren’t on the same page about “Going Green” or keeping our street clean. But the city of Long Beach had this mess cleaned up in a matter of 15 minutes!
Thanks to BSBA (Belmont Shore Business Association) for hosting another great parade.
I hope this Christmas Season brings you joy, peace and an attitude to help your neighbor as our Mayor urged.
