For three weeks in April, local artists invite the community inside their studios as part of the new Arts Council for Long Beach program titled Inside the Artist’s Studio. “The program is designed to bridge the gap between local artists and the community they serve,” states Kenton Haleem, Director of Arts Learning for the Arts Council. As a community outreach program it invites students from nearby schools to tour the studio during the day and the featured artists co-hosts adult tours with the Arts Council in the evening. The program provides the artist an opportunity to engage people on an up-close and personal level with his/her body of work.
