To conclude their 2017-2018 season, the Long Beach Chorale and Chamber Orchestra (LBCCO) will perform “Ports of Call” at the Aquarium of the Pacific on Sunday, June 10 at 7:30PM, LBCCO announced.

Filling the aquarium’s grand hall with musical selections from ports of call around the world, Assistant Director Matthew Martinez stated the performance will cover the gamut of emotions and styles.

“There will really be something for everyone, and what is so charming about this music is how relatable it is,” Martinez said in a statement. “No matter from what corner of the world the selection is from, the human emotions are universal: love, loss, beauty and the admiration of nature. These are qualities that all cultures and lands celebrate. ‘Ports of Call’ is a tribute to how we experience this planet and each other together as one.”

Performing under the life-size whale in front of the three-story Blue Cavern exhibit, the Long Beach Chorale will perform traditional songs from China and the British Isles, and compositions from contemporary composers from Argentina and Australia, among others, according to the announcement.

Tickets are available on the Aquarium of the Pacific website here. Learn more about the LBCCO here.

The Aquarium of the Pacific is located at 100 Aquarium Way.
