Although the original quote was actually about wine, a modified Benjamin Franklin saying has been passed around for many years: “Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”
As witnessed at the packed California Craft Beer Summit in Long Beach Saturday, masses of people must find some kind of truth to that erroneous paraphrase.

Q. A popular microbrew in England is Throw Away IPA. What is its secret ingredient?
A. Corn Flakes. Any of the cereal bits that are viewed as less than perfect by Kellogg’s are used for mash by the Seven Bro7hers Brewery. The beer has proven to be so successful they’re expanding to Rice Krispies and Coco Krispies.
