We started off the week with the unfortunate news that George’s Greek Cafe was evicted from its Pine Avenue location for failing to pay rent since last summer.
George’s children sold that location, along with the Lakewood one, after his passing in 2019, and his daughter, Nicky Loizides, still operates the Belmont Shore location, but we know the Downtown spot had a special place in many people’s hearts.
Nicky spoke fondly of her late father’s presence one Pine, where he was frequently seen giving out hugs to customers and even passersby.
