11:02am | Fans of premier and high quality beer will be excited to hear about the new Taste of Brews, an upscale beer-tasting event held right here in Long Beach on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Lighthouse Park. Taste of Brews is an official event of the Long Beach Sea Fest, Southern California’s famous beer-tasting festival featuring local, regional, and international breweries and brewpubs, along with food provided by high-end gastropubs and other restaurants, such as Long Beach’s own Auld Dubliner, Bliss 525, and La Strada Italiano.
Some of the local brewpubs that will be participating include Rock Bottom and Belmont Brewing Company. There are brewers coming from 12 states and eight countries. Some of the most popular full-flavored craft beers, such as Blue Moon, Firestone, New Belgium (Fat Tire), and Shock Top are participating in the event.
The VIP lounge will exclusively feature the Belgian’s Stella Artois, Leffe, and Hoegaarden.
Tastes of Brews begins at noon on August 20, with live music and an MC. Ticket prices begin at $40 and is all-inclusive, covering unlimited craft beer tastes and food samples, along with snacks, water, and more. Proceeds will go toward benefitting the Long Beach Marine Institute.
