From Wednesday to Monday, many roads, bike paths and alleyways around Downtown and the shoreline area will be closed for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

On Thursday, however, for two hours, the historic racetrack will be opening up for the first time ever in a Ciclovía-like experiment that will allow residents and visitors to use the 11-turn course car-free.

“The community is invited to walk, bike, roller skate or even push a stroller along the course where the world’s best Indy Car drivers scream over 180 mph,” said a statement from the City on the even, which is being dubbed “A Grand Prix View.” No motorized vehicles or animals will be allowed.

The public can access the track at Pine Avenue and Seaside Way starting at 2PM. A second entrance point for the public to access the track is at Seaside Way and Linden Avenue.
