On Saturday July 26, Stone Rose Gallery will make its mark on the local Long Beach art community. Featuring over 60 artists, the gallery’s exhibition Long Beach Summer III will be their most ambitious exhibition of Long Beach artists to date.

LBSummerArt01Mike Daniel opened Stone Rose Gallery in 2012 as a way to spotlight the local art community he had been supporting for years. His distinctive curation typically includes solo exhibitions, and smaller two or three person shows, within the realm of traditional media.

Long Beach Summer III differs from Stone Rose’s typical programming, as the work is limited and united by scale; no piece is larger than 16 inches. In addition to scale, the exhibition also features over 60 artists, making it the gallery’s most expansive lineup since their inception.

The list includes artists from the gallery’s stable as well as a handful of new faces, such as local artist and gallery assistant Robyn Feeley, an artist Mike met after purchasing her work at a local restaurant showing, and Domenic Cretara, a prolific artist that just closed a solo show with the gallery.

“Aside from size limitations of our gallery space,” says gallery assistant Robyn Feeley, “this show is really about the accessibility for art lovers to acquire smaller pieces to diversify and expand their collections.”

Exhibiting artists include:

Diane Mcloud, De Borah Jenkins, Walter Focht III, Lauren Dees, Annie Stromquist, Kymberly Bednar, Michael Sterns, Linda Russell, Slater Barron, Karen McCreary, Kent, Andy Lee, Ron Lara, Ladd Terry, Jack Chipman, Margaret Lazzari, Maggie Tennesen, Gail Werner, Kimiko Miyoshi, Judy Chan, Christopher Chinn, Betsy Lohrer Hall, Linda King, Jamie Sweetman, William Lane, Connie Lane, John Montich, William Livingston, Ann Mitchell, Craig Antrim, Ron Linden, Larry Klepper, Robyn Feeley, Lara Odell, Ron Javorsky, Nat Isobaker, Nat Jones, Kimberly Bednar, Nancy Weber, Jaye Whitworth, Mary Dessert, Jim Morpheses, Christopher Shoemaker, Michael Davis, Joshua Tann, Karina Massingal, Charles Schumaker, Judy Yu, Thu-Thuy-Tran, Josh Friedman, SP Starr (Suzanne Starr), Thom Wright, Mariona Barkus, Shannon Mulvaney, Hilary Norcliffe, Cathy Franklin, John Sanders, Joseph Corso, Margie Muns, Norm Looney, William Mahan, Domenic Cretara, and Donald Tiscareno.
