From poets to painters, the Arts Council of Long Beach is calling on residents to recognize the most talented of Long Beach artists by nominating them for the 2014 Distinguished Arts Awards.

Screen Shot 2014-08-01 at 11.09.15 AMNominations will be accepted through August 22 at 5PM, and the awards will be presented at the State of the Arts on September 27.

“These non-monetary awards are bestowed in recognition of excellence and community contribution,” said the Arts Council in a statement. “Recipients are selected through a community-wide nomination process which means we need your help. Whether you are an artist, arts professional, arts volunteer, or a community member, we invite you to submit nominations by completing the 2014-2015 Distinguished Arts Award nomination form. We want to hear who you think contributes to the vibrant arts and culture community in Long Beach.”

This year, the Distinguished Arts Award will recognize an arts leader, arts volunteer and arts organization.
