Regal Entertainment Group has announced that in memory of the athletic genius Muhammad Ali, Ali, the 2001 biography of the sports legend starring Will Smith, will be screened at select theaters starting Friday night. Fans are invited to watch again as Smith as Muhammad Ali and Jon Voight as Howard Cosell play roles in a film they both earned nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1942 the Olympic Gold Medalist and three-time Heavyweight World Champion was the first to speak out against the war in Vietnam and was admired and respected by his fans for not only for his prowess in the ring, but his unwavering convictions. Ali announced in the early ’80s his struggle with Parkinson’s disease, which only seemed to fuel his philanthropy, faith and humanitarian efforts. Ali passed at the age of 74 on Friday, June 3.

As thousands gather in Louisville today to pay their final respects, so too can you remember the legendary fighter in select theaters. Ali will be shown at Edwards Long Beach Stadium 26 & IMAX located in the Long Beach Towne Center.
