Relive the glory days of youth, reminiscing about playing hopscotch and drawing with chalk at the Belmont Shore Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest on Saturday, October 14.
Seasoned and emerging artists and participants from local high schools and universities will show off their artistic skills in the 14th annual contest, presented by Justin Rudd and his nonprofit Community Action Team (C.A.T.).
Artists will draw on premium artist’s paper that will be taped to the sidewalk with masking tape, allowing them to take their art indoors in the case of rain. Some of the artists will be selling their work after the judging and $1,000 in cash will be awarded to winners.
There will also be activities for the family including mural coloring, face painting and chalk drawing lessons.
The contest is free to spectate and will be held from 11:00AM to 4:00PM in front of Chase Bank located at 5200 East Second Street.
