Tom Frazier, Berlin Wall scholar and faculty member of the CSULB Department of Geography, will give a lecture about Deconstructing the Wall: Morphology of the Rise and Fall of the Berlin Wall on Thursday, November 6 at 6:00PM at the University Art Museum at CSULB.

On Sunday, November 9 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, also at the UAM, brief tours of the exhibition Barbara Klemm: Light and Dark, Photographs from Germany will occur at 1:00PM, followed by Frazier’s lecture at 2:00PM for Family Day. Docents will be leading photo-based activities for children, including a passport project and solar print, during the entirety of the event.

Barbara Klemm: Light and Dark, Photographs from Germany is an exhibition of 124 iconic documentary photographs that capture forty years of cultural, social and political history in Germany. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the UAM invites anyone and everyone to enjoy the provided activities.

Frazier has lent the UAM his archive to add context to the exhibition, a truly fascinating array of paraphernalia, including books and pieces of the Berlin Wall the professor collected himself as a young student in 1990. German newspapers from reunification, photography books and tourist material from the archive will also be displayed.

The exhibition is free and open to the public. The UAM is located at 1250 Bellflower Blvd.
