Kenneth Walker Dance Project (KWDP), a Los Angeles-based contemporary ballet company, will premiere new works alongside audience favorites for a singular summer session performance this August at the Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theater at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).

Known for its eclectic repertoire, uncanny wit and charm, the company boasts work by nationally- recognized choreographer Kenneth Walker and a host of experienced dancers from around the world.

The afternoon will include the company premiere of Rito Transcendente, a latin-inspired dance performance.

Several favorites, including Hum with commissioned music by composer and former KWDP dancer, Candice Davis and additional works including A li’l Mozart, Walker’s sly wink at 50’s homemaking will certainly make for an entertaining event.

Guest company, JESSICAKONDRATH | THE MOVEMENT will also perform.

Kenneth Walker, KWDP artistic director says that every year the company grows and tries to build upon the previous season. KWDP’s new dances will showcase the cultural diaspora of Los Angeles, highlighting cultural nuances from both Mexico and Ireland.

In an earlier press statement, he said, “We are taking more chances, growing the diversity and technique of our artists, and learning how to successfully present ourselves in Southern California.”

According to the release, the company was just recently presented by El Camino College Center for the Arts and has appeared at the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto Festivals in Charleston, South Carolina and has performed in Virginia, New York and throughout California.

The show will take place on Sunday, August 16 at 2:30PM. To purchase tickets in advance, click here. For more information about KWDP, click here.
