Lola’s Outdoor Retro Cinema series will return to Sunnyside Cemetery, with the first two screenings announced today, to celebrate the life, art and legacy of two of music’s most influential and visionary artists.
On Saturday, June 4, experience a live concert tribute to David Bowie by Long Beach’s MOVE, followed by an outdoor screening of the 1973 film Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture. Celebrate another legacy with a screening of Prince’s 1984 musical drama Purple Rain on Saturday, June 11, preceded by DJ Thin Man’s tribute to the iconic artist.
Tickets to Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture are $12 online through June 4 and $15 at the gate (if there are any left over). Purple Rain early bird $10 tickets are available through May 13 and will be available online for $12 through June 11 or until sold out. The Frida Cinema members can attend both events for free, which the proceeds will support.
