The Long Beach Cinematheque, in partnership with Lola’s Outdoor Retro Cinema, announced its 2015 Sunnyside Cemetery Lineup on Monday, and it looks to be a devilishly good time. Old and new movies will be mixed with concert and opera footage—from The Beatles to Donnie Darko.

“After last year’s successful series of classics at Sunnyside Cemetery, we wanted to return with some truly special events, and this year, we are joining forces with our friends at Long Beach-based music and special events troupe RIOTstage, led by the irrepressible Joshua Fischel, to complement a few of our events with some live music to kick off the events,” Long Beach Cinematheque founder Logan Crow said. “We’re also excited to welcome Los Angeles-based ‘shadow-cast’ Addicted to the Knife to present their legendary all-costumed, all-dancing, all-lip-syncing performance of cult horror fave REPO! The Genetic Opera!”

“With films ranging from celebrated classics like The Birds to beloved camp gems like Xanadu, and a couple of films from last year’s lineup that folks begged us to bring back, we feel we’ve come up with a roster of titles to delight and entertain a range of cinematic tastes,” Crow said. “We can’t wait to get back to Sunnyside Cemetery, and share these great films with our community!”

“I’ve been a long-standing admirer of Logan Crow, his Long Beach Cinematheque and Luis Navarro and his Lola’s Mexican Cuisine,” RIOTstage founder Joshua Fischel said about his collaboration with the Sunnyside Cemetery screenings. “For a few nights this summer we’re going to bring our talents together and create a unique entertainment experience with RIOTstage curating themed musical experiences as a prelude to the screenings. I’m more than honored to have been asked to team up RIOTstage with these ‘Lola’s Outdoor Retro Cinema’ screenings, bringing together three Long Beach institutions that are as dedicated to their craft as they are to this beautiful city.”

For evenings with live music, performances will start at 7:30pm. Limited, stacked parking is available at Sunnyside, so arrive early. There is plenty of street parking across Willow from the Cemetery, for those who don’t make it in time to grab a spot at the cemetery. Low-back chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets welcome.
