An eight-foot man walked into 15 local public libraries this week to deliver free copies of Daniel Wallace’s Big Fish, to promote Musical Theatre West’s (MTW) performance of the musical by the same name, which will show later this month.
The book delivery, which featured one of the actors from the play, encourages children to read the book before seeing it on stage.
MTW will also promote its upcoming production of Big Fish by showing Tim Burton’s 2003 film version, starring Ewan McGregor, on the rooftop of the Long Beach Arena parking structure, located at 300 E. Ocean Blvd., on October 16 at 7:00PM. Parking is $10 per car.
The musical Big Fish, presented by MTW, will run at the Carpenter Center on the Cal State Long Beach campus from October 31 to November 16. Tickets are available, starting at $20 by visiting musical.org.
