10StuntDogsThey’re back. And they’re jumping through more hoops than ever to see you.

On November 15, Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience will return to the Carpenter Performing Arts Center at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) for shows at 1:00PM and 4:00PM.

According to a release issued by the Carpenter Center, Perondi adopts the canine athletes from pounds and shelters across the country and trains them to become “superstars.”

“You’ll see their tails wagging,” said Perondi in a statement. “They’re having a great time. They’re always there to lift you up when you’re down.”

Perondi works with his wife, Suhey Perondi in adopting the dogs and touring them in over 3,500 performances across the United States.

They toss discs from on high, compete in dog obstacle courses, high-jump challenges and more. According to the release, each routine is designed to showcase the pets’ original talents.

Notable performances include shows for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show, in addition to the Rose Parade and Monday Night Football. Other shows and publications have featured the dog performances, notably, the Los Angeles Times, Sports Illustrated, FOX News, NBC, Univision and National Geographic.

Stunt Dog Productions, the name of the Perondis’ company, uses the shows to promote pet adoption and responsible pet ownership, according to the release. At each show, they educate viewers on the importance of spay and neutering.

The dogs are trained through positive reinforcement and the use of clickers and toys.

Single tickets for the stunt dog show start at $20. For tickets and more information, visit CarpenterArts.org or call the Carpenter Center Ticket Office at 562.985.7000. This series is made possible in part by Season Media Partner KPCC 89.3-FM.
