Long Beach-based artist Copeland Holt will sometimes walk 10 miles to find a site worthy of his canvas. In this next video of our ‘In the Studio’ series, we step outside to learn all about Holt’s process. He prefers to work in the chaos of the outdoors, so you’re likely to catch him out and about painting the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the lighthouse and Villa Riviera, as well as scenes from nature. He considers himself a “fine scribbler” as opposed to a fine artist in describing his expressive, almost abstract style.
