Fight Club character Tyler Durden once asked, “If you could fight anyone, one on one, whoever you wanted, who would you fight?”

Well, now it’s Long Beach’s turn to answer for a chance to see the film next weekend at the Sunnyside Cemetery for free. Logan Crow of Long Beach Cinematheque is giving away four pairs of tickets to see the film on Aug. 8 at 8:30PM.

Crow says Fight Club, based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel by the same name, is a memorable movie because it has a “true poetry to it.”

“For a story that deals with chaos, it’s a work embodied by very precise flourishes and artistic choices by director David Fincher,” Crow said. “It still continues to inspire fans to take away from it any of a number of explanations of what the film is ‘about,’ what its main themes and messages are, what it meant to them, and what it has to say about the world, humanity, sexuality, identity. And like the best poetry, all the explanations, however disparate, make perfect sense.”

To enter the contest for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the show, let us know in the comments below who you would fight (anyone, living or dead), and why. One entry is allowed per Disqus account and the Post staff will pick four winners on Aug. 6. Comments will be judged based on originality, creativity, and hilarity. Good luck!

FIGHT CLUB – Lola’s Outdoor Retro Cinema at Sunnyside Cemetery! will take place Friday, August 8 at 8:30PM at 1095 E Willow St. Tickets are on sale now at Eventbrite.
