Once again, the Long Beach Arts Council is seeking events to add to the comprehensive local arts calendar it creates for the month of October. But instead of calling the project GLOBAL as it has been in previous years (promoting “a world of art happening in Long Beach”), the month-long celebration is now being promoted as Long Beach Arts Month, the exact same program with a more solid Long Beach lens.
The Arts Council is asking art exhibitors and promoters to add their October event listings to the Long Beach Arts Month calendar, which will be heavily promoted as a service to the arts community. In previous years, art of all mediums and from every corner of the city were featured.
Individual artists, art businesses and arts groups can also participate in Long Beach Arts Month by joining the Long Beach Arts and Culture Registry, a searchable online database of local talent that will also be promoted on the LBAM website.
Long Beach Arts Month celebrates arts events happening in Long Beach every October, during National Arts and Humanities Month, a coast-to-coast collective celebration of culture in America.
