In honor of Women’s History Month, 19 women from Long Beach, San Pedro, Signal Hill and Catalina Island were recently honored as Women of Distinction by Assemblyman Patrick O’Donnell for their extraordinary achievements.

In an evening ceremony held March 8, O’Donnell’s office honored women who were nominated by their colleagues—and selected by O’Donnell himself—in one of five categories: creative industries, business, community service, education and health services.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to honor and celebrate a group of women who represent the very best of our community,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “Now more than ever, it is critical that we take a moment to recognize the inspirational role these women play in the lives of others and express our appreciation for their invaluable contributions.”
