4:00pm | Long Beach is home to one of the most unique and diverse car cultures in America, and the locals will prove it this weekend during the 21st Annual Belmont Shore Car Show when the coupes, sedans and drop-tops take over 2nd Street.

This Sunday, more than 700 classic cars to expected to be on display as fourteen blocks of Belmont Shore will be closed down to accommodate the fun. From Bayshore Avenue to Livingston Avenue, 2nd Street will be blocked off (even the side streets will be used to display cars). I would plan on riding your bike to attend, as more than 50,000 people are estimated.

How will this show differ from the one recently held in North Long Beach, the Bixby Knolls Car & Dragster Show? Since both shows have such a massive display of cars, they’ll probably be quite similar in their displays of classic hot rods and cruisers. But while the Bixby Knolls show has its roots in drag racing and harkens back to the old Lions Club Drag Strip, the Belmont Shore Car Show will likely focus more on beach and surfing car culture. So get ready to see some mean woodys and more convertibles than you can shake a dipstick at.
