bulldogbeauty justinruddHundreds of bulldogs will strut, snort and slobber down a 100-foot carpet runway next month in the 11th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest.

The event on February 7, hosted by Justin Rudd and the Community Action Team (CAT), brings together bulldog breeds like English and French bulldogs, as well as pugs, from all over the country that range in age from four months to 17 years.

It will last from 9:30AM until 3:00PM, with an adoption and vendor fair, as well as the following contests:

    • 2:35 p.m.: Poodle Pageant (all sizes)

Costumes are optional, but they are not encouraged, Rudd said.

“Organizers realize that most dogs are so adorable that they shouldn’t be covered up,” he said. “We don’t recommend outfits, since these dogs can overheat easily.”

Contest entry is $10 per dog, and all proceeds benefit local dog rescues, adoptions, spay/neuter programs and other CAT projects.

Entry into the event at Marine Stadium, located at 5255 Paoli Way, is free, but a $5 cash ticket gets attendees a seat in the front row. Seats can also be reserved ahead of time and contest entries can be entered by clicking here.
