Snow FlyerHoughton Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, courtesy of Councilmember Rex Richardson, joined by the Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine and SEIU Local 72. The Let It Snow at the North Pole event will take place on Saturday, December 19 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM.

All are invited to join Santa Claus in the Uptown festivities, where cookies will be served, toys given away and snow spread throughout the premises.

“North Long Beach residents deserve a snow day!” said Richardson in a statement. “I’m proud to be co-sponsoring this event to bring the holiday spirit to Uptown and allow our kids to experience the magic of Santa in our own Houghton Park. I hope to see everyone there.”

This event will also give the community an opportunity to enjoy the newest feature of the park, the Fitness Zone, according to the release. The revitalization of Houghton Park and its community center are a key piece in Councilmember Richardson’s Roadmap to the Renaissance.
