Long Beach Renaissance High School for the Arts is engaged in a special fundraising drive to purchase fifty (50) guitars for their students. According to the school’s Principal Mark Zahn and Music Teacher Drew Holt, many of their students are unable to practice at home because of the lack of instruments, leaving them to rely only on in-class instruction.

With School budgets tight, a campaign is being mounted by The Creativity Network and the Arts Council for Long Beach to raise the dollars. Through the efforts of Utopia‘s Kamran Assadi, they will be able to purchase the guitars at a reduced rate of only $65.00 (sixty-five dollars) each from Gilmore Music in Long Beach. If you would like to make a tax deductible contribution, please make your checks for $65.00 payable to the Arts Council for Long Beach and mail them to their offices:

Please write “Buy a Guitar” in the memo space. The Arts Council will then make the purchases for presentation to Renaissance High School for the Arts in September.
