Those who want to experience fireworks and partying on New Year’s Eve have the option of doing so locally in Long Beach, thanks to the Downtown Long Beach Associates.

The event, highlighted by a performance by LA-based indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums, will begin at 5:00PM and will also feature a waterfront celebration with a live swing band, children’s activities and a ten-minute fireworks show, sponsored by Gladstone’s.

In conjunction with the event, three downtown city blocks will be closed to traffic, so residents are advised to plan ahead.
