Downtown’s waterfront amphitheatre will come alive with a flurry of activities and roaming performers, including magicians, face painters and balloon artists. Local live bands CPO & The SAPS and Them Novus will serve up family-friendly music and a trackless train will offer free rides along the esplanade between the Aquarium of the Pacific and Shoreline Village. At 9 p.m., the sky lights up for an East Coast countdown with a ten minute fireworks spectacular. Love Fool will open the show with a rocking 90s set and in keeping with the countdown theme, they’ll be back for a 80s mix that will set the tone for the event headliner. Wayward Sons, a celebrated 70s cover band, will wow the crowd. At midnight, the countdown to 2012 will begin. At midnight, fireworks will light up the sky for the New Year.
