It’s the weekend once again and that means it’s time for food and relaxation after a long week of work or school (or both). Okay, so it was only a four-day week with Labor Day on Monday, but that doesn’t mean you didn’t work as hard this week, right? Check below for five ways to take some time off and relax.
Original Lobster Festival
Attention lobster lovers, the Original Lobster Festival starts today in downtown Long Beach! Bring your bibs and chow down on fresh lobsters straight from Maine. Get your drink on and then sing a slow ballad at the karaoke lounge. Enjoy arts and crafts, booths, games and a petting zoo with the family. Ben & Jerry’s Pint Slice Tour will also be on site offering samples to attendees. The festival starts today, September 8 at 5:00PM and continues Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10:00PM at the Rainbow Lagoon, located at 400 Shoreline Village Drive. Children 12 and under get in free. More info and tickets can be found here.
Shoreline Village Pirate Festival
Ahoy, matey! Bring the kids in their best pirate outfit to the Shoreline Village Pirate Festival. Dress the part and then hop on a pirate ship presented by Spirit Cruises. Come watch live sword fighting and then sing “Yo Ho-Ho” along with pirate bands. The event is also pet/dog friendly so you can dress up your furry friend as well, just make sure they stay on a leash. The festival is free to attend, while attendees dressed in pirate attire can enjoy a free cruise. The festivities take place Saturday from 1:00PM to 7:00PM and Sunday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at 401 Shoreline Village Drive. More information can be found here.
