11:24am | The 62nd Annual Greek Festival and Cultural Event will be held Labor Day weekend at the Assumption Orthodox Church Grounds at 5761 E. Colorado Avenue in Long Beach. This event will feature dancing, food and entertainment for the days of September 3,4, and 5 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM all three days.
Some of the Greek food and pastries available are tyropitas (cheese filled triangles), spanakopitas (spinach pie), Greek BBQ chicken, pork souvlaki, and loukamades (fritters in honey and cinnamon). Greek cooking demonstrations will be held at various times throughout the day.
Live music will be provided by the Olympians, and the entertainment will feature Greek dancers in traditional costumes. Other activities include: Greek dance lessons, church tours, children’s rides and game booths, and a marketplace to purchase a variety of items.
