Dine LBC will expand beyond its familiar restaurant week event this August by connecting foodies and chefs for exclusive monthly pop-up style events, Dine LBC founder Terri Henry announced last week.
The food-focused entity is currently working with owners of unique spaces and local chefs to host these unique occurrences throughout Long Beach.
The first two pop-up events are scheduled for August 5 and 6 in a “secret” location in downtown Long Beach to be disclosed to diners three days prior to the event. Local chef AC Boral will offer a family-style brunch both days. Boral’s RICE & SHINE pop-up will highlight Filipino favorites with a contemporary twist, according to the release.
“The unique space represents a creative outlet for chefs and place of discovery for diners,” Henry said in a statement. “Local chefs can still pick a location of their choosing—a private home, friend’s restaurant, farm, art gallery, etc.—or they can use our network of spaces where we offer that extra layer of support and organization so they are able to focus on their food and the dining experience they want to create for guests.”
The brunch menu will include items: Halo Halo Parfait with mango yogurt, pili nut granola, melon and crispy rice, Bagel with Ube Cream Cheese & Ensaymada Butter, Pork Sisig Chilaquiles, a Chef’s Special Entree (TBD), Garlic Rice,Tomato & Duck Egg Salad, Longanisa Scotch Egg a soft-boiled egg wrapped in Filipino breakfast sausage, coated in pinipig crispy rice and deep fried, and Auntie Rose’s Sweets for guests to take home.
“I’ve been doing pop-ups for a few years now in downtown LA and Venice, but haven’t hosted one in my own hometown,” Boral said in a statement. “Long Beach diner’s palates are getting more adventurous, and the pop-up concept is such a fun one that I wanted to introduce RICE & SHINE here.”
The RICE & SHINE brunch is $45 with an option to add bottomless Rosé Mimosas at $20. Tickets may be purchased online here up to the day of the event. There will be no cash sales at the event. The brunch will begin at noon and seating is limited.
