This Sunday Roxanne’s Cocktail Lounge & Latin Grill will celebrate its four-year history, rich with the passionate endeavor of lifting up the Wardlow Strip as a premiere hangout and raising Long Beach’s cocktail culture to new heights.

roxannesbrunchFrom 10:00AM to 2:00PM, bottomless mimosas will be served in limited edition Roxanne’s Four Year Anniversary champagne glasses, which guests can take home with them after their meal. The Sunday Brunch menu will include several special options including Abuelita French Toast with scrambled eggs, Mexican Chilaquiles and Grilled Brochettes, made on the eatery’s indoor barbecue grill.

Since Roxanne’s officially opened it has become a staple and a brand, not only to the immediate community, but to all of Long Beach,” said Roxanne’s owner, Robert Molina. “The evolution and acceptance of the community has been a rollercoaster as Long Beach went from being the Hollywood before Hollywood, to becoming well known for its Dive bar scene.”

In a 2013 interview with former Post Editor Sarah Bennett, Molina explained, “We could easily be passive business owners and just serve whoever comes in, but our interest here is much more than that. We’re here to bring the area more into the limelight.”

roxannesfrontNow that Roxanne’s has established itself as a go-to neighborhood joint for the Wardlow Strip, one that locals frequent for a well-made cocktail, Latin-inspired food and a classy atmosphere to congregate within, Molina can invest more time in elevating Long Beach’s cocktail scene as a whole. This upcoming anniversary celebration is a commemoration of years of hard work put into building the bar’s reputation for providing small-batch, craft spirits and craft beer, but also represents a step toward Molina’s mission to put Long Beach on the map as a city where finding a good cocktail is a rather small feat.

“Roxanne’s has played a major part in uplifting the Wardlow Strip. Neighbors and surrounding businesses have come together to really give the California Heights Neighborhood something to be proud of,” said Molina. “Roxanne’s is turning four years old and we are inviting everyone to our Brunch celebration on Sunday.”

Roxanne’s will also host an 80’s Night starting at 9:00PM. Guests will pay no cover charge, but must be 21 or older.

Roxanne’s is located at 1115 E. Wardlow Rd. For more information or to RSVP, visit the Facebook event here. For reservations, please call (562) 426-4777.
