Wardlow Station is nothing to brag about unless you love well-priced well-drinks poured with a heavy hand, which I do. Wardlow Station offers billiards, karaoke, an outdoor spot to smoke and a few flat screens.
With that said, these “amenities” are not what caught my attention. In the far corner of this bar, there is a lobster tank that had been turned into a claw game. It’s $2.00 to play, and if you grab a lobster, they cook it for free. I won on my first try! $2.00 in my wallet was quickly transformed into a lobster dinner, complete with all the trimmings (butter & salt).
Besides the delicious lobster, I had two gimlets for the grand total of $12.00, not including tip. I left Wardlow Station feeling like a victor. These results are not guaranteed for all patrons. I have friends who have invested over $40 into their lobster dinner and have not yet tasted buttery victory.
The crowd at this bar is middle-aged to old. This in my opinion makes drinking-conversations all the more interesting. The low-key atmosphere, combined with low priced drinks makes Wardlow Station a great place to visit.
Wardlow Station is located at 1174 E. Wardlow Rd., (562) 427-4630
