Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site announced Tuesday that children ages six through 11 are welcome to drop in for an afternoon of “good, old-fashioned fun” as the historic site hosts its January Creation Station.

On Saturday, January 2 between 1:00PM and 4:00PM, start the New Year with the free “Winter Wonders” themed program that will feature seasonal crafts to create and historic activities to participate in. Children will be able to select from various art materials to build their own “snowman,” create seasonal decorations, knit a bracelet and more. In addition to participating in next month’s Creation Station’s hands-on activities, visitors are also welcome to take a free house or garden tour between 1:00PM and 5:00PM.

heartcrazyNext on the docket is February’s Creation Station, “Heart Crazy,” to take place on Saturday, February 6 to offer Valentine’s Day-inspired activities.

The Rancho Los Cerritos site is a National, State and Long Beach Historic Landmark operated by the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation in partnership with the City of Long Beach. Built in 1844, the Rancho reflects the rich history of a Spanish, Mexican and American California and the families who transformed the state into the modern society it is today. Free guided tours are offered Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00PM to 5:00PM.
