Creativity can flourish even in times of a national economic crisis, as Southern California married couple Stanley and Cheryl Isaacs have learned. They have found a way to not only start a new business, but also fill a practical need. The two are responsible for the GRAB AND GO VEST, a sturdy, adjustable, easy to wear vest that comes fully stocked with the most essential items you need in an emergency to insure personal safety. The GRAB AND GO VEST is made of quality poly/cotton fabric with Velcro secured pockets, and weighs a mere 4 lbs.

They are a new, small start-up company is located in Los Angeles, but actually manufactures and assembles the vest in Long Beach. It is a point of pride for them to say their product is, “Made in America.”
The inspiration for the GRAB AND GO VEST came after they completed the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and they realized that there was a need for an item that would help people get through an emergency. Part of their research indicated that there was a huge underserved segment of the population that cannot carry a heavy bag or lug a cumbersome bucket when disasters strike; they wanted to fill that void.

The initial response to GRAB AND GO VEST has been overwhelming positive as local government officials, civic leaders, doctors, police and emergency responders have embraced the product.  The Isaacses have recently been featured in stories in The Los Angeles Business Journal and LA Weekly as well as appearing on KABC 790 Talk Radio’s Medical Show with Dr. David Kipper and Peter Tilden and a Voice of America YouTube story on earthquake preparedness.
