On Saturday morning divers from Deep Blue Scuba & Swim Center took care of the trash under the sea while volunteers from Long Beach Department of Parks & Rec picked up refuse from the shoreline during the 2012 International Coastal Cleanup.
Seal Beach Yacht Club volunteers took to kayaks to help keep their waterways clean at Alamitos Bay Marina.
Other teams throwing in with the cleanup included Hsi Lai Temple from Hacienda Heights, Southern California Edison and the Port of Long Beach.
