2:09pm | City Councilmember Dee Andrews is inviting the community out to a very special holiday celebration: The inaugural 6th District Tree Lighting Ceremony and Holidays Around the World.
The event will be held Friday December 17 from 3:30pm-6:00pm at the DHHS Central Facilities Center new Peace Garden at 1133 Rhea Street.
Those in attendance will “take a passport around the world” by learning about the holiday histories of Chanukah, Los Posadas and Kwanzaa. There will be light refreshments including cookies and hot chocolate. Rumors has it that Santa will also make a special appearance.
Groups such as Weed & Seed, the South Wrigley Neighborhood Advisory Group, Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee and Queens Historical Society will all be in attendance.
